 X-treme Weather Report Project
The students were given directions for our weather report project on Thursday.  They were also given the form they will hand in with their notes. Please review the project requirements with your child.  The students have been taking notes for some time.  After meeting with their group today, students should have an idea of what information they still need.  There are links to websites where they can find the information at http://www.portaportal.com.  The guest login is morris209.  The students have worked with this site in class, so they should know how to find the links.  Most of the preparation for this project is being done in class.  However, students will need to prepare the visuals for their presentation at home.  This may be done as a group, getting together outside of school, or the students may divide up the work and each do their part at home.  I have asked the children to talk with their parents about the best way to manage this.  For students who wish to make a model of a weather instrument, some parent help may be needed.  Parents can also help by proofreading their child's notes and script before they are handed in.  Time will be provided in class during the week of 1/23 for the groups to practice their presentations, so getting together to practice outside of school is optional.
